We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptional reverse breakfront twin pedestal partner desk hand made in England by the skilled craftsman at E.G Hudson There are many companies out there making twin pedestal partner desks, they are all much of muchness using either sofa wood or basic hard wood, this desk is the polar opposite, it is as luxurious and well made as you can find. The timber is sublime flamed mahogany, its book cut so the craftsman uses matching pieces to keep the grain the same. By style it’s what’s called a reverse breakfront, what that means is your seating area is recessed inside the frame of the desk, this is fabulous for being able to reach all corners. The leather top is cut from premium cattle hide leather then hand dyed. You can tell it’s an original hand dyed piece by the way its faded. I can have it dyed again for £250 a stunning whiskey or cigar brown color. There are other color options available The desk has above each top side drawer a fixed flamed mahogany butlers serving shelf, originally these were designed for your butler to bring drinks and snacks, now a days they are used as mouse shelfs when using a computer The desk naturally splits into three easy to transport pieces, the left pedestal is serial number stamped, the handles are all original and in the Regency style Condition wise apart from the leather fading and having a vintage worn patina the desk is in wonderful order Dimensions: Height 77.5cm Width 152cm Depth 91cm Legroom height 60cm, width 57cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
