Italian Art Nouveau Carved Walnut Credenza Buffet, Vittorio Valabrega

About the Item

A fine and large Italian 19th-20th century Art Nouveau carved walnut credenza buffet server by Vittorio Valabrega (1861-1952). The tall finely carved walnut body with twin center doors carved with grape vines, fitted with molded yellow-craft-glass panels above an apron drawer and a tilt-door compartment with glass paneling, flanked by single doors with similar carvings below a drawer, all with silver-plated hardware in the form of scrolled branches with leaves; the upper section with a center shelf, glass panels and carvings of flowers, leaves and fruits, fitted with a veined Rivera brown marble top. Turin, Italy, circa 1900. Vittorio Valabrega (1861-1952) was an Italian furniture designer and manufacturer. Based in Turin, The Valabrega Brothers Company opened their first shop in 1884 at Via Principe Amedeo 13, creating high quality eclectic and Art Nouveau furniture.
