Pair of Italian Early 19th Century Louis XVI Style Mahogany and Walnut Commodes

About the Item

A very handsome pair of Italian early 19th century Louis XVI style mahogany and walnut commodes. Each chest is raised on tapered legs with walnut and maple inlay, that continue up each side. Three wide drawers are centered with keyhole escutcheons, decorated with a lovely urn and foliate marquetry within walnut borders and maple trim. The same impressive marquetry and borders are repeated on the solid thick mahogany top and sides. All original warm patina throughout.
