Pair of Elegant Early 20th Century Carved Wood Swedish Art Nouveau Armoires

About the Item

A tall pair of Swedish Art Nouveau wardrobe cabinets with beautifully carved fronts from the early 20th century. This pair of antique armoires from Sweden each feature a pair of exquisitely carved two paneled doors, framed within vertically fluted side and central posts, with double drawers at bottom (one beneath each door). The tops have nicely molded cornices, recess panels flank each side, and these cabinets are presented upon bracket-style feet. The cabinets vary on their interiors; one having adjustable shelving, while the other remains open with rod and two hooks at top. This stylish pair of Art Nouveau Swedish armoires are a great problem solver, offering plentiful hidden storage within, without sacrificing design. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped white marble top with gray veining and pronounced rounded front corners, resting atop a case with rounded and fluted side posts which flank three graduated dovetailed drawers, with round bail-pull handles flanking the escutcheon at their centers. This commode is presented upon conical legs with fluted carvings metal feet. This piece has a pale blue finish, which still allows some of the natural wood grain to show through, and is accented with a gold accent trim.
