Painted French Inlaid Marble Top Cabinet
About the Item
The marble top of this painted French inlaid console cabinet is framed with shaped brass molding. The frieze has bookmatched herringbone inlaid panels framed by boxwood and ebony line inlays. There is raised brass molding below the frieze. The cabinet below the frieze is recessed in a shallow breakfront design. The door is framed with bookmatched rosewood crossbanding, rosewood shaped molding, and an inside brass shaped molding. The interior has two adjustable shelves. The front side stiles have stop fluted pilasters. The base has brass framing and similar bookmatched herringbone overlay. The feet have brass linings and cup feet. The center panel has a painting with two ladies and a man teaching a lady to fish. All brass has been polished and lacquered for easy maintenance.
