German Buffet Deux Corps in Burled Walnut, circa 1770

About the Item

A Buffet deux corps dating from the late 1700s, with a beautiful veneer of burled Walnut covering its streamlined form. The body, capped by an arched molded cornice, is composed of two stacked sections of enclosed cabinet space, fronted by hinged doors and lined with a 'spackled' interior in fine condition. All rests over a moulded apron supported by four flattened bun feet.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Fine antique condition, with no significant damage or known restoration to the frame, some very minor wear to the veneer, interior lining possibly of a 19th century date, metal hinges and fixtures possibly original.
