French Two-Drawer Neoclassical Style Chest w/ Original Marble Top, Early 19th C.

About the Item

A French two-door chest, with it's original marble top, from the early 19th century. This antique chest from France features a rectangular-shaped marble top with pronounced and rounded corners, with rests atop a neoclassical style case with fluted and rounded side posts which flank a pair of recessed paneled doors with neoclassical hardware. This case-piece is presented upon conical legs with fluted carvings and peg feet. The inside of this cabinet has a shallow upper shelf with secondary shelf below being adjustable to suite your storage needs. This 1820's French cabinet, with it's beautiful Mahogany wood and contrasting marble top, will be a lovely decorative piece your home, offering storage within and a place for desired objects to be prominently displayed atop.

    A French cabinet with faux marble painted top from the early 19th century. This antique buffet from France features a slightly overhanging rectangular-shaped top (brown colored faux marble), above a case which houses a pair of recessed panel drawers set horizontally at top, over a pair of decoratively raised panel doors at front. A lovely scored diamond and dot/floral pattern adorns the recessed areas about the front side of the cabinet, and raised-panel sides flank each end. The skirt has straight lined molding and the piece is presented upon block feet. The pair of doors open to reveal storage within, and a single shelf at the middle. A beautiful muted blue/green coloring makes up the primary palette of this chest, with some hints of taupe about the accent trim, and wood showing in various areas.     A French two-door buffet cabinet with nicely carved skirt from the early 19th century (or possibly earlier). This antique painted and carved wood cabinet from France has a rectangular-shaped top with rounded front corner edges, which rests above a case of fitted with a pair of doors that arch together at center, and raised upon cabriole feet. Each door is adorn with shapely raised-panels within their centers, and flanked within rounded side posts carved with an elongated oval panel and thick acanthus leaf towards the skirt. The beautiful paneling continues at underside of top front, and either cabinet side. The skirt is exquisite, and pierce carved with leafy c-scrolls along the front with scalloped sided.
