Empire Pedestal Mahogany Cabinet with Faux Tortoise Columns, Denmark, circa 1810

About the Item

A handsome and unusual form, this Empire pedestal cabinet in mahogany with line inlays has carved acanthus capitals on tapered torch-like columns that are in rich birch wood and have been oiled to resemble tortoiseshell, a finish that is repeated on the baseboard molding. Cabinet offers a storage drawer above and below the cylindrical cabinet. The neoclassical design is enhanced with fine line inlays throughout and has a very pleasing visual symmetry, Denmark, circa 1810. A sculptural piece that offers storage for bar glasses and has a very bold and original design! Note: You should always request a shipping quote.
