Antique 18th Century German Oak Two-Door Cabinet or Wardrobe
About the Item
A beautiful antique German cabinet that was in the German state of Westphalia circa 1750.
The cabinet has two doors with raised panels and elegant hand carved ornaments, flanked by two angled corners. The cabinet is made in solid oak and can not be dismantled.
Originally made as a cabinet to store linen and clothing, a few decades ago interior shelves were added, and underneath one shelf sit two drawers. The keyplates are made in hammered steel and are backed by red velvet. All hardware is original to the piece. The cabinet has a warm brown color with a rich patina and is in very good antique condition.
Dimensions: 192 cm high, 156 cm wide, measured at the hull 182 cm wide measured at the top.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. The cabinet has been cleaned in our atelier. Minor repairs to the left lower feet and the hinges were done. The old wax layers were revived and buffed up. A new protective wax layer was applied. The cabinet is now ready for use.
