17th Century English Oak Joined Chest or Trunk

About the Item

A handsome English panel carved coffer or chest (trunk) of oak from the Jacobean period (King James II), featuring an iron-hinged, panel top, mounted to a joined rectangular base. The base with a linen fold pattern along the top face, over three joined panels with diamond carvings, on raised feet. Interior with hinged work box.
