Belle Époque Desert Cupboard in Mahogany with Carved Birds of Paradise

About the Item

A highly unusual and very beautiful desert cupboard/ vitrine in mahogany from the Belle Époque period. This elaborate dumbwaiter offers a mirrored back with open shelving, closed storage and display areas, with a wooden lazy-Susan platter, probably for showcasing cakes and pastries. Features fine relief carvings of birds of paradise on turned columns and bottom door panels, as well as the original beveled-glass doors. American, circa 1890-1910. Comes with working locks and keys. Professionally restored in our workshop and French polished. Measures: 60" wide x 17" deep x 72 1/4" high. Note: You should always request a shipping quote.     Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Has 3 original mirrors along back, in good condition w/ small piece of silver backing missing in upper left corner. Has original beveled-glass & keyplates, 2 locks replaced. Old fabric inside is torn & missing in places. Comes w/ 3 working keys.
