About the Item

This bookcase is composed by three modules freestanding, suitable to be moving and placed at will in the home, equipped with seven shelves, one central cabinet with drop-leaf door available as secretaire, two cabinets with two doors and one cabinet with door and four drawers. It's a versatile item that offers plenty of room for storage and that could be used in any interior decor, for the home as well as for office. It’s original of the 1950s, made in teak wood veneered and finished with brass details. It’s conditions of the period are good with slight signs of wear consistent with age and gentle use. These bookcases have had a great market sales success, thanks to their aesthetic design mixed with gorgeous materials like warm teak wood, but the unique selling proposition was given by a win-win functional component: there is no need to use tools for the mounting, it's in total absence of screws, just in needs 2 persons and four hands. This is the reason why they were considered among the most innovative bookcases of the 50s. All items designed and manufactured by Vittorio Dassi are always stylish and charming and to his work must be added this great success of the teak wood items collection, so well conceived and designed by availing itself of the cooperation of Edmondo Palutari, one of the main internal designers to the Dassi Mobili Moderni. This furniture line was given an important contribution to establish DMM (Dassi Mobili Moderni) as one of the most known and innovative Italian brand on the market for interior design furniture, since the 1950s. However, let us remember that Vittorio Dassi has had a privileged relationship with Gio Ponti for many years, and the DMM was deeply trusted by him as main cabinetmaker for important projects. One example out of all has been the interior design furnishing for the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento.
