This is an antique headmaster's office bookcase. An English, oak cabinet, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. Attractive carved forms and wood grains Displaying a desirable aged patina - in good order throughout Select oak offers fine grain interest and rich color Wisps of medullary rays shine beneath the wax polish finish Shallow tiered top surface sitting above the whole Carved sash apron fascinates ahead of the upper display space Arranged as a pair of generously sized book shelves Field panel doors to base open to reveal a concealed third shelf Panel borders decorated with a distinctive carved beading Small, inset brass lined lock - key absent Terminating in a continuous plinth base with rakish profile Raised upon four ebonized, squat bun feet This is an appealing antique headmaster's office bookcase, with carved flourishes distinguishing the cabinet. Wonderful caramel hues and superb grain interest. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home or office.
