Hand carved, solid wooden Egyptian Revival stool.
Over the decades we have sold a few vintage Arabic stools, but this is the best one that we ever had the pleasure of offering. What makes this hand-crafted specimen stand our from others are the exceptionally hand carved camel sculptures on either side. Mind you, this tropical wood is very hard and anyone capable of hand carving two virtually identical sculptures of this quality and detail, in our view, is a master artisan. This stool stands as strong and stable as the day it was handcrafted and have you also noticed the Nile Delta birds that are carved in all four legs? Combined with the stunning and warm patina, the attractive green color 'cushion' and its overal design, this rare and possibly unique stool truly is a joy to own and look at. It is very comfortable to sit on, but it could also be used as a foot stool. With 1stdibs being home to the most beautiful things on earth, we cannot think of a better place to offer it to the world.
