About the Item
Pair of Louis XVI painted white fauteuils en cabriolet attributed to Georges Jacob (1739-1814) circa 1780.
With round channel-moulded backrest issuing straight scrolled arms with manchettes above serpentine U-form seat, the conforming seatrail above four patera-headed fluted tapering legs on toupie feet, each stamped "P" to underside os seatrail and to interior corner of rear leg with anchor surmounted by crown or fleur-de-lys, possibly for Chateau de Chanteloup; now upholstered in eau-de-nil silk velvet with cording in period taste.
