A pair of English oak hall chairs from the late 19th century, with barley twist accents and acorn motifs. Born in England during the last quarter of the 19th century, each of these stylish hall chairs features a straight back topped with carved branches, foliage and acorn motifs. Following the natural curvature of the back, the branches seem to be resting on the barley twist supports that flank the sides. Each wooden seat, presenting canted corners in the front, is raised on four legs, the front ones being turned while the hind ones are saber. With their unusual décor and lovely oak patina, this pair of English hall chairs circa 1880 will be a great addition to any foyer, living room or bedroom, particularly placed in a mountain cabin or country home.
