1950s Italian Brass Chiavari Armchair with Crossed Arrows Motif
About the Item
1950s Italian brass Chiavari armchair with crossed arrows motif in the style of Gio Ponti, Tomaso Buzzi and Marc du Plantier.
Seat cushion newly upholstered in vintage gold metallic leather. Hand polished to a mirror finish.
The crossed arrows fleche motif can have many meanings: a neoclassical representation of love in the form of Cupid's darts, a Native American symbol of friendship, also as a nautical motif with reference to the compass.
