Jean Royere by Jacques Lacoste & Patrick Seguin (Book)
Located in North Yorkshire, GB
In 1931, aged 29, Jean Royère (1902-1981) resigned from a comfortable position in the import-export trade in order to set up business as an interior designer. He learnt his new trade in the cabinetmaking workshops of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris. In 1934, he designed the new layout of the Brasserie Carlton on the Champs Elysées and found immediate success, embarking upon an international career that was to endure for nearly half a century. Royère tackled all kinds of decoration work and opened branches in the Near East and Latin America; among his patrons were King Farouk, King Hussein...

Bench II by Donatas Zukauskas
Located in Geneve, CH
Bench II by Kasanai Dimensions: D 85 x W 32 x H 43 cm. Materials: Oak, cement, recycled paper, glue, paint. 7 kg. The visual inspiration for the bench is a combination of natural wood and concrete. These two opposite materials combined, create a unique character of the product that has the coldness of concrete and the coziness of wood. The tabletop is made of natural oak, and the base of the table, resembling concrete in appearance, is made by pouring solid mass. The set task was technologically challenging - it was necessary to fuse wet mass and moisture-sensitive wood. The entire structure of the table is manufactured at the same time, so that the two materials join together smoothly and precisely to avoid any gaps. After the product dries, it is scrubbed, and the tabletop is oiled. The black concrete-like material is the result of various experiments. It is a mixture of several components: an eco-friendly of cement, recycled paper, glue, and paint. Dried it becomes as strong as wood, it resembles concrete but is slightly elastic, so it does not split or crumble. The result is a natural texture and strength that ensures durability. Collectible Limited Paper Chair Seating Lolly by Vadim Kibardin
Located in Amsterdam, NL
For many years, Vadim’s design practice has been recognized for experimenting with materials and developing unparalleled construction techniques. His work encourages positive social impact by awakening our collective human responsibility to the environment. Vadim placed equal emphasis on both innovation and functionality. He takes the minimalist philosophy of stripping an object to its essential features to a completely new level. With his iconic Black Paper and Totem collections, Vadim offers his contribution towards achieving a circular economy, creating sculptural, highly aesthetic and fully functional furniture from cardboard waste. A pioneer of circular design, Prague based Vadim Kibardin has developed a construction method which utilises the underexploited properties of mundane packaging. Working predominantly with paper and cardboard waste as a sculptural medium, Kibardin delves into a conscious and responsible approach to consumption. With his Black Paper collection, Vadim offers his contribution towards achieving a circular economy, creating sculptural, highly aesthetic and fully functional furniture out of cardboard boxes. His research started in 2018 with Dolly chair...

Whimsical Postmodern Cardboard Sculptural Chair
