Special Commission Armchairs by Sven Kai Larsen for NK, 1960s, Set of Two

About the Item

This pair of chairs were designed especially for the head office of The Swedish Engineering Compound (Sveriges Verkstadsförening) in Stockholm in the early 1960s. Anders Tengbom was the architect for the, quite well documented, building and some of the furniture were designed by Sven Kai Larsen and produced by the very skilled craftsmen at the Nordiska Kompaniet workshop in Nyköping, Sweden. To this day it is not known how many chairs of this model that was produced and how many of them that have survived but they are very rare on the market. The frame is made of teak with a black leather upholstery to the seat and back. This pair is in an very good untouched original condition with light patina. Note that the last two pictures are taken from archive material.
