About the Item
Important pair of 1st edition early Congo Arm Chairs by Theo Ruth, Artifort 'Art and Comfort' approx 1948/1950. These chairs are completely different than the common Pinguin or Congo chair. These early chairs rarely show up on the market and never with armrests. They probably only produced these as limited editions and for a very short time. The backrest can be positioned, lounge (last picture) or more straight up. The base has a very long wooden curved leg in accordance to designs from Carlo Mollino from that period.
We kept the original Green Velvet fabric for the sense and ambiance, but they are in need of new upholstery
