Set of Six Late 18th Century Country Chippendale Chairs

About the Item

A rare and very handsome set of six English country Chippendale chairs in oak and elm. The plank splat silhouettes beautifully with long sloping curves extending into the head rail which has pronounced flared ears. The mellowed, well-patinated plank seats are supported by square legs with stretchers, and the seat apron is scalloped. The charming chairs have a wonderful weight and are quite sturdy and comfortable, British, circa 1780.
