Iconic pair of Vibo Vesoul Cantilever Chairs by Adrien Audoux & Frida Minet

About the Item

A set of two French Midcentury tribal lounge chairs of iconic design created by Adrien Audoux & Frida Minet for manufacturer Vibo Vesoul. French designers Adrien Audoux & Frida Minet invented this comfortable rustic armchair with a natural appearance in mind by using indigenous fibers and light colors to achieve a timeless Modern beauty. Known for their iconic design, these chairs are made from bentwood beech with original braided abaca plant fiber rope. This modest approach using raphia fibers prized for endurance, strength and resistance was the intentional aim of this humble model and characteristic of many of their other designs . They are handmade, resulting in a difference between the wood graining of the two chairs. Wood in good vintage condition w/ barely visible superficial scratches or imperfections. Rope in original condition with some old repairs and minor losses on back, some wear/ fraying on the front bottom of both chair back rests, as shown in photos. The chairs are strong and sturdy. Chairs are a cantilever design and very comfortable. There are pictures of each chair's seat, backrest and back view. The pair can be placed in any style or setting ex: Mid century Modern, Scandinavian, Italian, Traditional, Tribal, Rustic, Art Deco, Contemporary, Post Modern, French Modern... and can be used as Bergere Chairs, Rocking Chairs, Chairs, Living Room Sets, Lounge Chairs, Chaise Lounges, Club Chairs, Corner Chairs, Office Chairs, or Slipper Chairs in a hip Brooklyn loft, a country home, a Hamptons retreat, or a sleek city apartment. .
