French Empire Salon Set After Jean Francois Bellange

About the Item

This three piece early 19 Century salon set features finely carved gold leaf gilded frames accented by rosettes palmettes and acanthus characterizing most French Empire furniture and Decorative Arts. . While the set isn't stamped, the designs and construction of the set are very similar to the work of Francois Bellange whose work can be found in the White House in Washington D.C. The set is upholstered in an empire style green silk fabric.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Dimensions listed are for the Settee. Armchairs are 27"W. Other two dimensions are identical to the settee. Seat Height for each piece is 18". There is some use related rubbing of the gold leaf gilding at the top of the balls on the sofa.
