French 1830s Restauration Period Mahogany Armchair with Carved Rams' Heads

About the Item

A French Restauration mahogany armchair from the 19th century, with carved rams' heads and new upholstery. Born in France during the Restauration period, this mahogany armchair features a wraparound back adorned with exquisitely carved rams' heads. The seat is upholstered with a linen fabric accented with brass nailheads while the ensemble is raised on four legs, the front ones being turned while the hind ones are saber. With its elegant lines and lovely mahogany patina, this French Restauration period armchair circa 1830 will make a great decorative statement in any living room, bedroom of office.

Created in England during the second quarter of the 19th century, this mahogany armchair features a straight rectangular back with curving upper rail, connected to two full arms with scrolling knuckles resting on turned supports.
