19th Century Pair of Shield-Back Armchairs with Carved Prince of Wales Feathers

About the Item

A pair of lovely shield-back armchairs in mahogany with open carving of three ostrich plumes tied by a bow, a reference to the Prince of Wales who was the Prince Regent before becoming King (George III). Offers a wide upholstered seat and turned, carved and fluted legs. England, circa early to mid-1800s. Measures: 24 1/2" wide x 26" deep x 36" high (Seat Height: 19 1/2").
