Suaimhness, meaning Peace in the Irish language, draws its inspiration from Insula Art, a remarkable artistic movement that emerged during early Irish monasticism. The design reflects the swirling motifs and spiral forms typical of this period of creativity. Often referred to as the "age of saints and scholars", the era was considered a golden age for the arts in Ireland. Shown in 9' x 6'6" rectangle. Custom sizes and colors available upon request. Made to order of traditionally spun pure Irish wool in rural Ireland and tufted by hand.

View ProfileRhyme Studio is a New York City based manufacturer offering a collection of sculpturally graphic rug designs that serve as functional floor art or wall mounted tapestry. Celebrating the beautiful qualities of traditionally spun Irish wool and craftsmanship, the rugs are designed in New York City and meticulously tufted by hand in rural Ireland.
Inspired by Insula Art, a 7th century artistic movement that emerged during early Irish monasticism, the first collection "Insula" is a minimalist interpretation of swirling motifs and spiral forms typical of this period of creativity. Debuting in autumn 2019, the second collection "Trinity" is a study and celebration of the classical form of the triangle.
Rhyme is a multi-disciplinary design consultancy with a portfolio that encompasses curated site specific art and design installations, the design of private residences, office and restaurant interiors, and collaborations with a variety of cutting edge international designers and artists. Rhyme founder Claire McGovern has also played a pivotal role in the development of several notable luxury design manufacturers. In 2018 she debuted a design collection made by hand in rural Ireland. Beginning with a series of rug designs, the collection will ultimately become a multi-media array of furnishings dedicated only to the highest quality, sustainable craftsmanship.
