Spanish Rug “RENAULT” Design Signed Special Order, 1930
About the Item
Alfonso XIII, was King of Spain from 1886 until 1931, he was looking for an extraordinary gift for a man who had everything in his life. He came across this original idea of giving an amazing carpet featuring the cars that bear name of Louis Renault, legendary car manufacturer. He finally decided to ask this incredible gift from The factory of Miguel Stuyck, descendant of Jacopo Vandergoten. This factory was one of the best in the field of carpet production. You can clearly see taste of 18th century in the medallion and borders of this carpet, and also amazing cars such as an 1899 A type, a 1904 U type , a 1920 EU type and a 1930 Reinastella 40ev. A luxurious and elegant piece.
