Art Nouveau Hand Knotted Carpet with Floral Design, Theo Nieuwenhuis, 1890-1905

About the Item

This very large carped was hand knotted in the Netherlands, circa 1890-1905. This design has been attributed to Theodoor Nieuwenhuis for Koninklijke Vereenigde Tapijtfabrieken Deventer. The design features floral motives and dragonflies. The colors used are all with natural pigments. Some wear and stains, consistent with age and use. One of a kind.
