Channeling the famed Walter Nichols style of the 1920s and 1930s, this hand knotted wool new contemporary Chinese Art Deco runner features a variety of traditional Chinese floral motifs overlaid upon an abrashed beige field. Two peony motifs decorate either end of the piece, while lotuses and plum blossoms adorn each corner along with delicate Leiwen fretwork. Framing the piece, the border features a lovely garland of floral vinery. The design of this piece has been rendered in a manner faithful to the beloved Art Deco rugs that inspired it. Along with its Classic design, this contemporary piece also boasts the soft, plush pile and rich color palette so often seen in the iconic Nichols rugs.
