Area Rug by Street Artist Ben Eine "New York Sauce", 2014

About the Item

This carpet is a part of our Graffiti collection, and is produced in collaboration with the street artist Ben Eine. A collector’s item! The prolific street artist Ben Eine, (née Ben Flynn), is best known his series of spray-painted letter murals on storefront shutters along London’s Middlesex Street, or “Alphabet Street”, as it has become known. Eine’s trademark colorful typography adorns streets in cities all-over the world, including LA, Mexico City, and Tokyo, and the artist also creates indoor installations and produces works on canvas in spray paint, acrylic, and glitter. Eine gained worldwide recognition when British Prime Minister David Cameron presented one of his works to President Obama during a state visit. He was also invited to participate in Banksy’s 2008 “Cans Festival” in London. Joseph Carini is the owner of Joseph Carini Carpets and has been involved in the NYC design scene for 30 years. He has been a pioneering force in combining centuries old dying and weaving techniques with contemporary design, to produce some of the most unique and sought after handwoven carpets today. His international clientele include a majority of high profile Architects, Interior Designers, and celebrities; Lord Norman Foster, Raphael Vinoly Architects, Selldorf Architects, Jay Z and Beyonce, Brad Pitt, and John Legend. All of Joseph Carini Carpet designs can be made in any size and custom colored. He also does exclusive made to order work, and is passionate about using the finest natural dyes and materials available. Joseph is always happy to educate new customers about all the possibilities we provide.
