About
Art Deco was a taste phenomenon that influenced the furnishing of houses in western countries between 1920 and 1940. This style underwent a strong influence of exotic taste. From the encounter between a decidedly Chinese style and the new art of furnishing in the West, the Nichols rugs (by the designer who invented them) are born with a renewed chromatic taste that can sometimes be risky. Cascades of flowers on a background combined with bold tones are the main feature of this production. In our example, the bottom of a rare solid brick color, enhances the warm tones of rich flowering and vases.
