Originating from East Turkestan between 1920-1940, this semi-antique transitional Khotan rug from Rug & Kilim is entering its first year as an antique in good condition. Handmade in quality wool, the field design depicts an individualistic series of perfectly mirrored floral medallions in gentle eggplant and beige-yellow hues against a rich, rustic red background. While the uniform repetition of these symbols in the field is from a select family of Khotans, the dominant choice of rustic yellow throughout the inner and outer borders is a seldom-seen characteristic.
