The upper and lower portions of this piece are embellished with embossed and chased bead and scroll decoration accenting concave bordered, fluted decoration all in a spiral design. The sugar caster retains the original hallmarked screw fit cover, embellished with pierced decoration incorporating chased and embossed bead and scroll decoration, the screw fit attachment indicates the fine quality of this piece. This Georg Adam Scheid silver and enamel cigarette case has a subtly curved form offering a comfortable fit in the majority of pockets. The anterior cover is embellished with an exceptional original enamel panel depicting a female wading through a vast amount of water, holding in her hands her skirt, boots and parasol.
