Georgian Mahogany Reading Stand or Lectern, England, circa 1800
About the Item
Wonderful old portable podium style reading stand or lectern. Mahogany with satinwood and rosewood inlay, the top having an adjustable support to raise and lower the reading angle. The lower section with two drawers, and having interesting and unusual legs canted on the sides sitting on recessed casters. Stand comes apart into two pieces for portability. George III, England, circa 1800.
