Antique French Gilt Bronze Fire Place Screen 19th Century Cherub Louis XV Style
About the Item
Amazing 19th Century French antique gilt bronze free standing ormolu fire place screen in Louis XV Rococo Style with floral handle, flanking scrolled acanthus motif, highlighted with a center medallion showing winged cherubs tending to a flame, and terminating on four scrolled foliage feet. This high end and high quality hand-crafted beauty is 70 cm / 27.56 inches tall, 75 cm / 29.53 inches wide and 25 cm / 9.84 inches deep. Beside one replaced screw on reverse and a tiny defect in the mesh wire which is only visible by a very close inspection the fire screen stays in very good original condition with typical and characteristic minor wear consistent with age and use. It has wonderful details and is numbered with VI on reverse. This statement piece is a highlight and an upgrade for any elegant and noble interior.
