About the Item
Handcrafted, hand carved and hand painted, wooden church wall console.
We have sold quite a number of ecclesiastical antiques over the years, but we can't remember ever owning and selling a Gothic Revival console table that was as clearly made for a church as this relatively small specimen. All handcrafted out of solid pine it is rather remarkable that there is no woodworm at all to be found in this piece and for it to have survived in this very good condition is like an ode to its former custodians. Due to its unique and slightly on orthodox design, we cannot put our finger on the country of origin of this practical size wall table. Placed against the wall with maybe only a few candlesticks or a crucifix on top, this unique and very decorative table brings a pastoral atmosphere which will never fail to impress or inspire.
