19th Century Ash and Elm Childs Windsor Armchair
About the Item
A very attractive mid-19th century childs size
Windsor armchair having elegant stick back over
Curved arms and well figured seat raised on
Elegant turned legs with H-stretcher
(Children's, or Childs Chairs as the name suggests were
made throughout the 18th and 19th centuries normally
as scale models of their full size counterparts for the
children of the family to use. They come in all sorts of
scales, shapes and sizes dependent of course on the
age of the child they were initially made for and the style
of the existing furniture within a home. This is a lovely
example of a country windsor type design. Very much
fit for original purpose and a good design for ensuring the
user manages to stay upright this is still in excellent condition
and would be a lovely, charming addition to any family home.)
