Handcrafted Walnut & Oak Nightstands, Bedside Tables
About the Item
A pair of black walnut hand-crafted nightstands, or end tables, in the midcentury modernist style. Constructed from finest American black walnut with the inner dovetailed jointed drawer carcass in English Quartersawn Oak. The upper box is detailed with visible bold hand-cut dovetail jointing. A smooth light curve design is cut into the legs and follows along the facia. Designed by Sum furniture and handmade by craftsmen in England. Hand finished in durable oils.
Modernist design utilising traditional craftsmanship and very fine timbers.
These can be made to custom dimensions and design variations if required - so please enquire for any quotations.

These timbers and materials are very carefully chosen for each specific design - maintaining our focus on the benefits, visual impact and strengths of what we use.
Our regular use of English Quartersawn Oak is one case in point. It has been the beloved timber of fine furniture makers across the world for centuries. It is costly to produce but gives huge benefits and rewards such as its striking medullary rays and superb stability qualities.
By utilising these wonderful and naturally occurring features with our contemporary designs we aim to continue creating some very distinct, tactile and idiosyncratic pieces.
These are all completely handmade, in very small numbers, by our skilled craftspeople in England.
