About
This truly magnificent bronze vase (Les Fillesdes vagues) is one of the more important Art Nouveau bronzes produced by this well regarded artist of his time.
Louis Chalon was born in Paris in 1866 and he exhibited at the Salon between 1898 and 1911. Known primarily for his Art Nouveau work, his sculptures are some of the most sought after of this genre. His auction prices continue to bring high prices. This vase has made many thousands more at auction than our asking price.
This vase comes in a variety of patinas. We find the two color with the gilt women and brown background to be his best example.
If you love Art Nouveau the way we do, here is a chance to own one of the great examples. This bronze is pictured in several books.
