1850s Oak Wodd Stick Barometer by Negretti & Zambra Weather Measuring Instrument

About the Item

Stick barometer, oak wood, antique measuring instrument made in UK in the mid-19th century and signed by Negretti & Zambra, with thermometer and nonius reading the atmospheric changes. Very good condition and working. Measures: Cm 12 x 8 H 94 - inches 4.72 x 3.14 H 37. Enrico (Henry) Negretti in 1859 joined Joseph Zambra, a manufacturer of scientific instruments in London, and they established the Negretti & Zambra Ltd, with numerous branches in London, and soon they had a good reputation both at home and abroad because of the excellence of their products. In the early years of the company, they limited production to meteorological instruments, or, as they defined them, "philosophical instruments". Shipping is insured by Lloyd's London.
