Machine Age Art Deco Rene Chambellan Medallion, Rare Oversized Westinghouse Order of Merit, circa 1935 In original Presentation case. Box is 5.5" square, with functional latch. Struck in bronze by Medallic Art Company of New York. Obverse depicting stylized WPA-like City-scape / factory scene. Skyscraper. Reverse Westinghouse Award details. Rare presentation token, almost twice the size of typical Bel Geddes, Loewy, Teague Medallions. Rarely found with struck inscription to recipient. The Westinghouse "Order of Merit" was the Company's highest form of Employee Recognition. Cast bronze, 101mm / 4" diameter. With silvered "W" An iconic piece of work by Rene P. Chambellan.
