Pair of Mid-Century American Navajo J. Blackgoat & Mexican Silver Belt Buckles

About the Item

This pair of midcentury silver and turquoise belt buckles are presumed to have been made in circa 1965. The buckle with the round central medallion and inlaid with mother of pearl is believed to be Mexican. The oval shaped buckle is artist signed by Jenny Blackgoat, a member of the renowned family of American Navajo silversmiths. The buckle is shaped like one of her large conchos and is clearly signed "J Blackgoat" on the back.
