Art pottery, or Studio Pottery is defined as 'pottery designed and produced by one individual or by a small team working to an agreed plan.' Often art potters rebelled against mass production methods from Victorian times to the outbreak of World War II. Many Illustrations, the book also lists the pottery firm, artists it employed, their marks and signatures, the types of pieces and techniques.
