George II Period Rococo Carved Mirror Frame of Astonishing Quality and Detail

About

A rare and extremely interesting example of a mid-18th century carved pine mirror frame in the High Style Rococo manner, incorporating many of the most popular motifs of the genre including all things botanical, with stylised flowers and Lattice Work, 'C' scrolls and raffle leaves, water falls, a cabochon and foliate sprays of every conception. In remarkably fine condition and retaining an original looking glass. Similar trellis work and garden ornament is in a frame attributed to John Bladwell circa 1725-1768. Property of The National Trust at Felbrigg Hall.
