Joyous Early 20th Century Spanish Gilt Sunburst Ray Mirror

A fantastic octagonal mirror which has been custom fashioned with an antique Spanish wooden brazier as the surround, with new mirrored glass in it's center. This wall decoration features a new, circular-shaped mirror at center, within a beautifully rustic and octagonal-shaped wooden "brasero." The brazier (also referred to as a brasero) is an early 20th century heating element from Spain, which once would have been used to heat a home, with a bowl with hot coals held within it's center (where the new mirror is now). The sides of the mirror project out from the wall with carved legs approximately 5.5", giving this piece visual interest when viewed from it's sides. However, should you wish the mirror to be without legs, we are happy to cut those off if that works better for your needs. The wood is rustic and natural with a nice patina and show of use. A French mirror with fabulous carvings and original paint & gilt from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique mirror from France features an exaggerated arch pediment top with dentil molding beneath the top trim and pair of rosy-cheeked cherub faces carved within a cloudy-ray sunburst featured prominently at top center. The arched mirror is flanked within Roman Corinthian style columns, and bell-flower trim molding adorns the inner surround. The lower frame is embellished with a floral and bow-tied ribbon motif.
