Antique French Louis Philippe Mirror with an Ornate Crest

A beautiful antique mirror that originates in France, circa 1860. The mirror has the typical rounded upper corners that are the signature for Louis Philippe mirrors. The mirror has a rich ornamented crest with classical elements such as flowers, acanthus, and scrolls. The most elevated part of the frame features a pearl beading. The color is mainly off white with remnants of gold paint. Some parts are red with traces of gold leaf. The mirror frame has lost most of its original color and now shows the polished base material. The mirror frame is structural healthy. The mirror glass has been renewed in our atelier.

- Condition DetailsThe mirror has been cleaned and repaired in our workshop. Minor repairs to the top ornament were done. The original color has been washed off and it now has a beautiful light pastel color. New glass inserted.
