Ultimate American Bakelite, Chrome, Copper, Aluminium and Brass Trench Art Lamp

Without a doubt the most powerfully designed large Trench Art table lamp that we have ever handled. Rising from a stepped polished copper base with a burnt umber and terracotta coloured stepped Bakelite pad is a pedestal/plinth of solid aluminium. From this in turn rises a banded pillar consisting of polished aluminium, terracotta Bakelite and black Bakelite rings that culminates in a solid copper sphere. Three period brass "fat boy" sockets radiate from this sphere and each retains its original black Bakelite paddle switch. This amazing lamp "weighs a ton", is in fabulous restored condition, is all original and has been rewired. The ecru drum shade shown is contemporary and for display purposes and thus does not form part of the sale.
