About the Item
Scandinavian modern table lamp "Capri" in glazed earthenware for Rörstrand by Gertrud Lönegren, made in the 1950s. Underside marked with ‘L33’. 22 cm high with a diameter of 17 cm. Normal ware consistent with age and use. Sells without the screen (which is from Firma Svensk Tenn, design Estrid Ericsson). The lamp is suitable for swedish electricity, and hence require new cables.
Lonegren studied design in Vienna and Stockholm during the 1920s. She worked as a ceramics designer at the famous swedish factory Upsala-Ekeby in the 1930s before creating this studio piece at Rorstrand between 1936-1941.
