Pair of Kerosene Lamps with Birds in Chinese Style

About the Item

Pair of French antique kerosene lamps. The bronze paunch is decorated with birds on branches and flowers in Chinese style. What makes these lamps stunning is the multicolored brown, gold, green and red patina. Each oil lamp rests on four legs toppd by a Foo dog. Foo Dogs or Chinese guardian lions are a common representation of the lion in imperial China. With glass globes ingraved with thyrses and ivy leaves. Late 19th century period, circa 1880 Dimensions: W 6.3 in, D 6.3 in, H 32.3in. Dimensions: L 16 cm, P 16 cm, H 82 cm.
