About the Item
The Mainkai table lamp by Sebastian Herkner matches his playful shapes with sophisticated materials. The lamp’s integrated button on the top stem dims the glow of its hand blown glass globes. The LED light has a balanced color temperature of 2700K but can be customized cooler or warmer on request. The base in Nero Marquina or Marron Emperador marble comes from Italy and then German craftsmen create the lamp not far from the riverside boulevard it is named for.
Designer Sebastian Herkner has a keen sense for materials, colors and textures. After graduating product design at HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. He then worked for Stella McCartney in London. Founding his own studio in 2007 he’s since gone on to design furniture, lamps and smaller items for manufacturers such as Cappellini, ClassiCon, Dedon, Fontana Arte, Gubi, Moroso, Thonet, Wittmann and others. Maison&Objet recently elected him 2019 “Designer of the Year”.
